As of October 15, 2013, I'm affiliated with the International Association of Professional Martial Artists as a Student Member. This organization was recently founded by James Neiman Sensei, Soke of Shugyo Aikido among other things as a way to build connections between martial artists, schools and private instructors who are independent of large organizations. I would recommend that any readers who are, or want to be, serious martial artists, but find themselves hampered by not being part of an organization, should consider this organization; it is an excellent way to be part of the wider martial arts community even as an independent practitioner or instructor.
